FAQ
Where are my dives stored?
On your iPhone, locally. Details: privacy policy.
Can I export my data?
Yes — via the Export tab as CSV or UDDF. You keep your data in an open format readable by other dive log apps.
Can I import from another dive log app?
Yes — the app reads CSV, UDDF, Suunto DM5 XML and Garmin FIT. Export tab → Import → pick file.
Why don't I see weather data?
The weather field uses Apple WeatherKit and requires:
- An active internet connection
- Location services enabled for the app in iOS
- At least one logged dive with coordinates
If all of that is true and you still see nothing: be patient — Apple caches values per spot for 10 minutes after the first request.
How do I change the app language?
Via iPhone Settings → Abyss Divelog → Language. Currently supported: German, English.
Is there iCloud sync?
Not at the moment. Your data stays local. If Apple's iCloud Backup is enabled for your device, it'll be part of that backup automatically (encrypted and not visible to us).
Will the app keep being developed?
Yes. Roadmap and bugs are tracked in the GitHub repository.
